An overstuffed frog bra ~ kitsch wryness and frustration over the cute childish interpretations coupled to the loss of innocence metaphor inherent in the metamorphosis of the amphibian decline ~ renamed an extinction event ~ and all coupled with an instinctual guilty pleasure for the child inside me.
Scattered images spanning eleven years actively exploring collections, frogs and science as art medium. The clear sphere I am holding in an early sequence was cast from a human skull. The green tree frogs Agalychnis annae live here at my studio. The images of me doing field work are from a 1998 University of Texas Arlington collecting trip with Dr. Jonathan Campbell and Dr. Joseph Mendelson to Guatemala, starting this series of work.
